Babe's Playground is proud to offer courses in Pole Dancing/fitness. Modern day pole dancing has evolved into an exercise form practiced by not only professionals and performers, but by everyone from casual students and gym-goers to national and internationally recognized pole athletes. The Pole Program gives you all of the basic foundations of the art and sport of pole while focuses on floor work, spins, line, and movement while incorporating strength, conditioning and flexibility. No dance background necessary.
Beginner Pole Fitness will build on the fundamentals pole skills, taking your skills farther up the Pole. We'll be covering the basic climb as well as a variety of sits and holds and begin the conditioning exercises needed for inverting. We'll also start learning the process of stringing individual moves together to form "combinations" - since the only thing more fun than doing one pole move is doing several of them in a row! Please wear shorts that hit no lower than your upper thigh and a tank top.
This course takes the solid foundation built in Pole 1 and expands on it. In Pole 2 we begin to explore different ways of getting upside down -introducing lowers, laybacks, and inversions. We'll also be adding to our vocabulary of climbs, pole sits, knee holds, and bracket holds with moves like Scissor Climb, Hip Hold, Inside Leg Hang and Extended Thigh Rest.
Pole Level 3 builds on both inverted and upright skills. We will be working on allowing the body to move away from the pole in an inverted position. We will be expanding on our types of inversions with Iguana Mount and Shoulder Mount. We'll also be working on Caterpillar Position to begin our inverted climbs.
Pole 4 is currently our most advanced class. In this class we'll begin working on our two-points-of-contact inverted holds such as Jackknife and Ayesha. We'll also begin to work our inverted to upright climbs such as Gemini Climb and Flag Grip Climb.
Come and practice your Pole skills under the guidance of a Pole Instructor. Students will not receive instruction at open Pole, instead this open gym time is for Pole students to practice the skills that they have been learning in any level Pole class.
